Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Heya folks!!

I’m back today with a BOOK TAG!! I was scrolling through my reader, since I haven’t had the chance to for a solid fortnight or so (because essay writing, yikes) and came across this hella awesome post by Anthony at Keep Reading Forward…

I mean, obviously I love books so HELL YEAH I’M DOING THIS TAG. WOOP.

  • Tag & link the person who tagged you
  • Tag and link me/this post (see above)
  • Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done
  • Tag another 10 people!

1. Received an ARC and not reviewed it.
Yep. There was one I remember having a while back that I just couldn’t get into, no matter how much I tried. The writing style just didn’t sit well with me.

2. Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley.
Hang on whilst I log into my ~old~ account that hasn’t seen the light of day since…well, since my old blog tbh. Turns out I’m on 67%!!! That’s way higher than I expected!!

3. Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did).
Surprisingly no; I never write ‘review to come’ because if I leave it til later it won’t get reviewed at all. Better not to risk it.

4. Folded down the page of a book.
I know. Blasphemy. But hear me out: when I’m writing a summative essay and have one copy of The Spanish Tragedy with all the criticism in the back, it’s way easier for me to mark the page of each single essay in that way!?

5. Accidentally spilled on a book.
I’m relatively sure I’ve never spilled drink on a book, though I do have a couple with crumbs caught between the pages.

6. DNF a book this year.
Surprisingly yes. I’ve never really done this before (or at least not intentionally), but I gave up on Protagonist Bound after about three chapters.

7. Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it.
Nope. If it’s pretty, I’ll want to read it. That being said, there is a cover for The Handmaid’s Tale that I REALLY want because it’s so minimalist and wonderful and hardback.

8. Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework).
Guilty as charged. I sometimes look back at my A levels and wonder how I got through them, considering I sat in the library reading all the time.

9. Skim read a book.
Maybe? I skim long chunks of text a lot, not gonna lie.

10. Completely missed your Goodreads goal.
Not this year!! I’m on 52/50 which is the first time I’ve surpassed it in three years 😀 (2016 was particularly rough, I only read about 25 books total…)

11. Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library.
Definitely not. I always return library books.

12. Broke a book buying ban.
Surprisingly no, but that could be because I’ve never strictly enforced one upon myself.

13. Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about
Sadly yes. I’ve had to scrap many a review because I just had no idea what they were on about.

14. Wrote in a book you were reading.
Again, in my defence, this was a book for my course and I like highlighting/making notes.

15. Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads.
I’m actually pretty good at keeping my Goodreads up to date. Success!!

16. Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend.
Oh god no, I wouldn’t dare.

17. Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book.
Nah, I like sharing my books!! Okay, so I’m pretty irritated that my friend broke the spine of Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda because he’s a melt who doesn’t understand book care (sorry Pan, but it’s true). But anyhow. I like sharing my books.

18. Broke the spine of someone else’s book.
I wouldn’t dare do this either. Oof.

19. Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged.
Ooh, I don’t think I’ve done this before. My books stay pretty much in mint condition these days (as opposed to years 7-11 when they’d get battered to pieces in my schoolbag. My poor copy of The Raven Boys is actually terrible.)

20. Sat on a book accidentally.
Possibly, though I don’t remember for sure. I’m pretty sure I’ve creased a cover this year by putting something heavy on it by accident though…

That’s WAY lower than I thought…looks like I’m on the nice list this year! 😀

Well my lovelies, the time has come to tag people. I’m not tagging anyone specific because it’s Christmas and I’m sure you all have a lot to catch up on, but if you want to give this a go I’d love to read your responses!!

Lots of love,
Lost Signature
